Symbols of peace and love abound! Beanie Baby Peace bears are fun to collect because no two are exactly alike. Collectors normally categorize Peace bears by either “predominant colors” or swing and tush tag variations. The colors are sometimes categorized further as “pastel” or vivid. Ty produced Peace Beanie Baby bears in China and Indonesia. Every Peace bear is unique because of its Ty-dye fabric. Peace was the first Beanie Baby with an embroidered emblem. The Peace Bear’s introduction date of May 11, 1997, is the same date Garcia was retired. Peace is identical to Garcia except for the name, tags and the peace symbol on Peace’s chest. There are two generally accepted categories of Peace; “tie-dyed” and pastel tie-dyed. The pastel, tie-dyed versions have 5th generation swing tags and 6th generation tush tags. SPECIAL FEATURES & ERRORS. No stamp inside Tush Tag (Not mass-produced). Pellets (Rare/Original Generations ONLY). Inside the swing tag, “UK” does not appear after 5TX. Tush tag has the star, plus BOTH the “TM” and the circle R. Front of hang tag has the error- “ORIGIINAL” is misspelled with double “I”. Tush Tag bottom line has 1965(KR) which means this was part of Korean market. Rear hang tag has second error with surface being misspelled as “SUFACE” with no R. His name and style number are on the same line, indicating an early generation Beanie. The Ty addresses listed on the left interior of the hang tag- the “Fareham, Hants” is collectible and a rarity. There’s an extra space before and after the semicolon “;” (preceding the date of birth, inside right swing tag) — This is not only significant because of the extra space, but also because it should have been printed as a regular colon with no space “:” [as opposed to a semicolon with added spaces to each side ” ; “].
